We are entering the Christmas season and the kids love this stimulating environment full of lights, decorations, toys, Father Christmas... But we know that it is also a difficult month due to the high consumption and expenses for meals, dinners and gifts.
Here are a few TIPS to help you enjoy a Christmas with surprises, but without any surprises 😉
- Time with your children. We would all like to have the holidays that our children have for Christmas, but it is not always possible. Take advantage of the holidays to be with them and do little activities like decorating the Christmas tree, even if it doesn't look exactly how you thought it would.
- Budget? Assess the situation and adjust to the budget you have this Christmas. You can make a list of everything you need to get an idea, and if it is too much, cut down to the essentials.
- Values. It is very important that children are taught the value of things from an early age. They are exposed to many stimuli such as advertisements, TV, mobile phones full of toys and they will want them all... so it is important that they learn their value and also how to share them.
- The letter. The custom at this time of year is to write a letter with everything we want. Spend some time with your little one and write it with them, it can be very interesting to encourage them to include something non-material or to think of something for others. As an idea... you can make the letter as a collage by sticking pictures of what they like.
- Gifts. As we mentioned before, and in order to make our children appreciate what they have, it is a good idea not to give them lots of gifts, but rather one that they really like. This way they will focus their attention on it and you will avoid them losing their minds with 50 toys. It is also interesting that, if the family is going to give him/her something, you should agree on what the child asks for in the letter and what he/she is looking forward to.
- Wrapping. The staging is very important, the little ones love wrapping paper, boxes, in short, unboxing... So don't hesitate to be creative and wrap them in original paper. You can also hide the presents and make a game out of it.
- Quarrels. If they misbehave, don't threaten them with no presents, they are small but smart and they know they will get them... besides, you don't want them to do it out of interest, do you? Give them a warning and, as far as possible, try to make them understand why it is wrong.
We hope these TIPS are helpful and that you have a great holiday season ^^
And remember, the important thing is to spend time together as this is what they will remember for the rest of their lives.
